Obligation to register the passengers on board

 

The ministerial decree 13 October 1999 (transposing the EU directive 98/41/CE of the 18.06.1998 council regarding the registration of passengers on passengers ships who undertake trips from and to the community member states ports) requires, in some cases, provided within (art. 4), to detect the following information regarding the passengers: surname, name, gender, nationality, age group (newborn, up to 3 years, children if up to 12 years of age, adults if  over 12 years of age) or age or date of birth and, at the request of the passenger, information regarding specific treatments and care needs, in case of emergency situations.  So at the moment of booking and/or purchasing the ticket, the passenger, where requested, must provide to the company the above mentioned details, that will be processed in accordance with  the ministerial decree 13 October 1999 ( and where applicable with the personal data code, legislative decree 30 June 2003, n. 196). Passengers are advised that detecting the above mentioned data is necessary to facilitate possible search and rescue operations .
